Creative Awakening and the Transition to the Urban Environment
Access to art education and the attentive gaze of educators are decisive factors in building a professional trajectory. Growing up in the rural region of Lumiar, the belief that it was impossible to make a living from art was a constant, fueled by the absence of specialized courses and the distance from cultural centers. This scenario began to transform decisively with a move to the city, when a schoolteacher recognized promising talent and encouraged technical deepening. With the fundamental support of her parents, enrolling in a drawing course in 2022, at the age of 14, marked the beginning of a rigorous professional immersion. What was meant to be a mere refinement of strokes became a broad discovery of the multiple possibilities of manual creation, guided by a teacher who became an essential mentor in teaching drawing, tattooing, and painting.
Technical Evolution and the Fluidity of Oil Paint
The creative journey was not limited to a single medium. The natural progression moved from paper to skin through tattooing, until finding in painting its most authentic and recognizable visual language. Refusing to be bound by rigid patterns or a single style allows for continuous experimentation, marked by phase transitions that aid in self-knowledge. Currently, technical preference falls on oil paint, heavily explored through a gestural approach. The spontaneous, free application of pigment with a heavy texture gives volume and movement to the canvases, resulting in compositions that prioritize the power of the brushstroke.
Expressing Feeling and Capturing the Atmosphere on Canvas
Imagery production is guided by a visceral search for emotion and empathy. Inspired by the ability of historical masters like Van Gogh to prioritize the externalization of feeling during the moment of creation over pure realistic precision—a concept perfectly illustrated in the work “The Starry Night”—the intention is always to place oneself inside the painting and translate a state of mind onto the canvas. This philosophy materializes in pieces like “Noite de Jazz” (Jazz Night). The artwork captures the atmosphere of a bar that blends retro and contemporary elements, utilizing a vibrant mixture of colors and reflections to transport the observer into a magnetic and immersive night environment.
Breaking Paradigms and Democratizing Art Education
Technical and conceptual deepening also brought a new perspective on the possibilities of the job market. The old perception that tattooing was the only viable source of financial support in the creative field was deconstructed, making way for the certainty that painting and the visual arts offer equally solid and prosperous paths. Plans for the future involve traveling and exploring the world, depicting the homes, customs, and traditions of different cultures, actively filling the gap in experiences felt during childhood. In addition to a constantly expanding original production, long-term goals include teaching these techniques to new generations.
